The Dolby Atmos version of Blu-ray is encoded with Dolby Digital TrueHD, a so-called Lossless encoding that does not degrade the signal during data compression to reduce data size. We find the same distribution and spatialization of the Atmos mix, but with much more finesse and precision on instruments and voices than on the Streaming version. On “Luminosity”, for example, we find greater precision on the guitar at the start of the track, followed by more natural, precise spatialization in the Dolby TrueHD Blu-ray version. Dynamics are the highest of all versions tested.
